Comparison of Dose Rates from Four Surveys around the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant for Location Factor Evaluation

چکیده

Background: The radionuclides released by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident 9 years ago are still being monitored various research teams and Japanese government. Comparison of different surveys’ results could help evaluate exposure doses mechanism radiocesium behavior in urban environment area. In this study, we clarified relationship between land use temporal changes ambient dose rates (air rates) using big data.Materials Methods: We set a series 1 × km2 meshes within 80 km zone FDNPP to compare survey results. then prepared an analysis dataset from all analyze change air rate. selected included data types (airborne, fixed point, backpack, carborne) obtained through all-time campaigns. Results Discussion: characteristics each survey’s were evaluated dataset, as they depended on measurement object. revealed that, for example, carborne smaller than those other surveys because field view was limited paved roads. location factor uses also considering four methods. Nine after accident, ranged 0.26 0.49, while half-life rate 1.2 1.6.Conclusion: found that decreasing trend similar Chernobyl accident. These parameters will be useful prediction future at post-accident.

Radiation dose rates now and in the future for residents neighboring restricted areas of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

Radiation dose rates were evaluated in three areas neighboring a restricted area within a 20- to 50-km radius of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in August-September 2012 and projected to 2022 and 2062. Study participants wore personal dosimeters measuring external dose equivalents, almost entirely from deposited radionuclides (groundshine). External dose rate equivalents owing to the ...

Morphological defects in native Japanese fir trees around the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant

After the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (F1NPP) in March 2011, much attention has been paid to the biological consequences of the released radionuclides into the surrounding area. We investigated the morphological changes in Japanese fir, a Japanese endemic native conifer, at locations near the F1NPP. Japanese fir populations near the F1NPP showed a significantly increas...

Measurements and Calculations of Beta Dose Rates on Contaminated Ground at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant Site

The accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant resulted in a substantial release of radionuclides into the environment. Consequently, the emergency operation workers were exposed to both external gamma and beta radiations arising from the fallout; however, their beta doses were scarcely recorded at the time due to an insufficient number of dosemeters. To solve this problem, the autho...

Operational level for unconditional release of contaminated property from affected areas around Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant

This paper focuses on the surface contamination control of slightly contaminated property after the Fukushima nuclear accident. The operational level for the unconditional release of contaminated properties is calculated in counts per minute (cpm) to enable the use of a typical Geiger-Muller (GM) survey meter with a 50-mm bore, on the basis of the surficial clearance level of 10 Bq cm(-2) for (...

Environmental contamination and external radiation dose rates from radionuclides released from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.

To evaluate the environmental contamination and contributory external exposure after the accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant (FNPP), the concentrations of artificial radionuclides in soil samples from each area were analysed by gamma spectrometry. Six artificial radionuclides ((131)I, (134)Cs, (137)Cs, (129m)Te, (95)Nb and (136)Cs) were detected in soil samples around FNPP. Calculated...
